Whether you're a seasoned enthusiast or just starting your journey into the world of model trains, this video will take you through essential techniques and tips to ensure flawless operation on your modular model railroad.
There are hundreds of possible ways to wire a model railway layout and this is just one of those ways, however this video will get you started for wiring a layout Ā specifically designed to be modular. Itās important to have good reliable wiring, thereās nothing more frustrating than having your train stutter or completely stop because of poor wiring and track work.
This video will help ensure you get started in the right direction when wiring your train layout.
When testing the layout be sure to try all sorts of locomotives and rolling stock that you plan to use on the layout. IĀ have quite a number of locomotives I've collected over the years that are rivet counter brass models, unfortunately for me a lot of them don't make it around the 18 inch curves, however I also consider myself lucky because IĀ have access to a 3DĀ printer which means IĀ can re design the bogies in such a way that IĀ can make it work.
I'll end up removing the brass bogies and putting them aside and replacing them with my modified 3DĀ printed bogies that will work with 18 inch curves. I'll make sure to keep the brass bogies just in case IĀ want to re sell the model. At least I'll still have all the original parts.
Additional content that will help you recreate and follow along with the build, some of the 3DĀ printer files are still experimental and may require some tinkering in order to get them to print successfully. Also, nearly all of the 3DĀ printer files are designed for resin 3DĀ printers, trying to print them using a filament 3DĀ printer may not be possible!
But in any case, IĀ hope you enjoy the extra content.
