The most important aspect of a model railroad, especially a modular model railroad is getting the modules to line up perfectly... and that starts with foolproof benchwork!
In this video I'll be Ā stepping you through my method for building awesome modules that fit together perfectly every time. DCCĀ Concepts makes that much easier, they have a alignment dowel system that works even better than IĀ could have hoped. They are the specialists when it comes to making modular layout designs and have a range of products to make building a layout much easier and more reliable.
This is a series of videos that will progress right from step one which is planning all the way through to adding scenery and running operations on your layout.
There is a lot to cover in this series so I expect that it will go for some time, especially when adding scenery. That stage can pretty well last the lifetime of the layout because there are always details and things you can change on a layout.
However if you want a layout to last the test of time you really need to put a lot of effort into the baseboard construction as well as the track work, which will be the focus of the next video.

Additional content that will help you recreate and follow along with the build, some of the 3DĀ printer files are still experimental and may require some tinkering in order to get them to print successfully. Also, nearly all of the 3DĀ printer files are designed for resin 3DĀ printers, trying to print them using a filament 3DĀ printer may not be possible!
But in any case, IĀ hope you enjoy the extra content.
