If you want more info, IĀ have written a companion article you can read here:Ā Dust Proofing a Layout
Dust is a never ending battle for a model railroader, but not anymore! Iāll step you through the numerous techniques Iāve implemented on my model railroad to show you just how Iām stopping dust from ruining the fun I plan to have running this layout.
If you want to laser cut the dust filter unit you will find the project files here: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/4sm4iH7blc7
You can even modify the dimension so if you have a smaller fan or filter you have the ability to change the shape and design of the model.
This is a HO scale model railroad but this videos is not scale specific, these step will work for just about any setup, even if you a military modeller and want to make a dust free display cabinet, just one of these fans on top will give you that opportunity, and your friends will be asking, how do you keep your models looking so good š

Additional content that will help you recreate and follow along with the build, some of the 3DĀ printer files are still experimental and may require some tinkering in order to get them to print successfully. Also, nearly all of the 3DĀ printer files are designed for resin 3DĀ printers, trying to print them using a filament 3DĀ printer may not be possible!
But in any case, IĀ hope you enjoy the extra content.
